Fall Seasonal Ritual October 15-21
I am really excited to share and open the circle to you, of transitioning into fall with ease and grace.
For years now, I do this twice a year, fall and spring, during critical times during the cycle of the year, to pause, and intentionally enter the next cycle. Although the spring transition is more about “spring cleaning”. This time is about nurturing and building a strong inner hearth fire.
Why this is important for Fall, is because obviously there is a shift in seasons, and we begin to move into the windier and colder months in the Northern Hemisphere.
This is also a time, where stress and movement picks up in our lives: with school starting, with after school activities, with flu season being imminent, as well as the oncoming stress of holidays. Movement and a heightened sense of time seems to pick up both physically and emotionally in our lives.
In Ayurveda this is a time when we let go of the summer heat in our bodies, and work on building up our digestive fire, or agni, as we start eating heartier foods, and as the chill comes into the air. We are moving from the fire + air element, to more of the air element. Vata energy is greatly heightened during this season. This can be seen in the winds, leaves blowing around, and a time where we can tend to be more scatter brained. This is a beautiful moment for building vitality and setting intentions, so as to enter this season prepared, level-headed and with a deeper anchoring.
The 7-day home-retreat is a magical opportunity to pause and build the intentions on how you want to enter the fall, rather than being steam rolled by the endless to-do lists, activities, obligations and heightening stress, as we try to cram it all in before the holidays. You create your life with intention. You set the pace, rather than having the pace be set for you, often with lots of harrowing discomfort.
I find this to be hugely empowering and grounding time. It allows for a slowing down along with connecting to a deeper current within us. I always advocate for rest and slowing down, but this time, the transition into Fall, is the prime moment for that. You will notice a change when you begin this practice.
We will be doing this in circle, a safe container. It will be an opportunity to share, to hold space and to notice what comes up for you. I wish I had this type of circle, and hence why I am creating it. It will remain in the spirit of nurturing and simplicity; so really limiting the feeling that you “have” to be there for zoom calls, or overwhelmed by too many pieces or content to cover. No, this will be the opposite. This will remain in the spirit of less is more, about ritual, about centering, and about nourishing our body, mind and spirit. It will feel like a warm cosy blanket around your shoulders, and a warm nurturing cup in your hands. The invitation stands, and the circle is open for you to step in.
