When you think of the earth under your feet, you think of a solid foundation - like the base of a mountain. It is strong and monumental…yet it can also be dense, soupy and cool like squishy mud. but all the while very “earthy” and grounding. When we work with the Earth in terms of yoga, or our own bodies, we work with evoking those qualities. So for example if you were on travel and feel you are missing your home routine and feel out of sorts- what can you do to feel more rooted and grounded? Maybe do an Earth Yoga practice, like in Prana Vinyasa - keeping in the hips and close to the ground. Also, if you are feeling “shaky” in a relationship, or in a current position, what can you put in place, or maybe remove, to create a firmer, more solid, and more supportive structure? Those are examples of how to work with and bring the earth element into your life. In terms of food - you could eat more root vegetables, more dense foods like nuts and even grains….all to “ground” you.
